Nancy Susan Reynolds Memorial Photography Show Winners Announced

 Thirty-nine photographers entered the inaugural Nancy Susan Reynolds Memorial Photography Show, which will be on exhibition at the Reynolds Homestead through the end of December.  The theme for this year’s contest was “The Simple Life,” and photographs were entered in the categories of Animals, Landscapes, People, Plants and General.

The 2018 winners:

Animals:  1st Place – Matt Hines, “Loki”; 2nd Place – Glenn Sellers, “Smile”; and 3rd Place – Nick Spencer, “Cat Days.”

Landscapes:  1st Place – Rick Craig, “Small Town Sunset”; 2nd Place – Rocky Wall, “Simple Mountain Morning”; and 3rd Place – Tara Craig, “Hello to Autumn’s Enchanted View.”

People:  1st Place – Rick Dawson, “Fairy Princess”; 2nd Place – Glenn Sellers, “River Fun”; and 3rd Place – Janice Sellers, “Roanoke River Trout.”

Plants:  1st Place – Jason Overby, “Bleeding Heart”; 2nd Place – Randy Sweatt, “Mushroom”; and 3rd Place – Allen Morrison, “Straw Flowers.”

General:  1st Place – Dan Leeper, “Tranquility Methodist Church”; 2nd Place – Jeryl Stowe, “Crazy 8s”; and 3rd Place – Randy Sweatt, “Imaginary Friends.”

The Best in Show was awarded to Joanne Hill, “Mother and Daughter in Repose.”

The student award for Best in Show went to Kali Craig, “Puddle Jumper.”

The theme for the 2019 Nancy Susan Reynolds Photography Show will be “Transitions,” with the categories Architecture, People, Nature, Events, and Special. Entry forms will be available at the Reynolds Homestead on August 1, 2019, but photographers are encouraged to begin planning for the event.
