American Music Series Announces 2018 Schedule

Another great year of traditional American music concerts awaits music lovers!
 Beginning with our traditional Gospel Celebration in February through our Jazz on the Lawn in September, 2018 looks to be a great year of music at the Reynolds Homestead and Fairy Stone State Park. Mark your calendars so you won’t miss a beat!
February 11 – Gospel Celebration
Join us for the 29th Annual Gospel Concert Celebrating Black History Month, featuring area gospel choirs and musicians hosted by Bishop Burgie Penn.  3:00 p.m.  FREE
March 11 – ShadowGrass
Don’t miss the chance to hear this up-and-coming bluegrass band with talented young musicians from southwest Virginia and western North Carolina.  2:30 p.m.  $8 adults; under 16 FREE



April 8 – Family Music Traditions
Celebrating the great musical families in our region, Ron Pendleton hosts this concert featuring performers raised in musical families who will share their music and stories of how music has been passed down in their families through the generations. Special guest families:  the Shelors, the Pendletons and the Blackards. The musical legacy of these families came from family members who recorded old time country music at The Bristol Sessions of 1927…those sessions are arguably considered the Big Bang of country music in America.   2:30 p.m.  $8 adults; under 16 FREE


May 26 – The F.A.R.M. T.E.A.M. at Fairy Stone State Park
Come down to Fairy Stone State Park’s Shelter #2 and enjoy a variety of music by the Free Alliance of Recalcitrant Musicians Totally Eclectic About Music.  7:00 p.m. FREE, but park admission rates apply
