Simple Gifts of the Blue Ridge Perform August 12
Simple Gifts have delighted locals and visitors alike for more than a quarter century at Fairy Stone State Park. The Reynolds Homestead is pleased to be bringing them back to our fold again!
The Simple Gifts of The Blue Ridge will perform at Fairy Stone State Park on Saturday, August 12 at 7:00 p.m. The concert is sponsored by the Reynolds Homestead as part of their American Music series. It will be held at Shelter 2, and there is no charge to attend, though parking fees do apply.
Donna Alvis Banks of the Roanoke Times said “When the members of Simple Gifts of the Blue Ridge start making music together, something happens to your spirits. They soar. The Blacksburg group performs everything from train songs (“The Wreck of the Old 97”) to Scottish ballads (“The Rolling of the Stones”), early American hymns, Old-timey Appalachian tunes and more. Bring a lawn chair or blanket and be prepared to soar. Your spirits will thank you.”
The Homestead has been hosting Simple Gifts for over a quarter of a century and they have always held the last concert of the summer series spot during that time. Their music is a delight to everyone who has heard them a dozen times or for the first time. For more information about the band and their music, visit their website at http://www.sgotbr.com.
The Reynolds Homestead is appreciative of Valley Star Credit Union, Friends of The Reynolds Homestead and Patrick County Tourism for their support of the American Music Concert Series.
