Creative Arts Center Schedule of Classes
The Reynolds Homestead, in partnership with the Patrick County Chamber of Commerce and the Tourism Department is pleased to announce that the new Creative Arts Center at 334 Patrick Avenue in Stuart is now open and classes are being scheduled. Painting with Grace
Friday, October 13, 6:00-8:00 p.m.
Beginning in October, Grace Helms will host a monthly “Painting with Grace” class. Following her lead, each person will create a 16” x 20” painting chosen specifically for the season. Everyone is invited to bring their favorite appetizers, and enjoy fun, fellowship and art together! $30 per person, all materials included.
Mask Making with Grace Helms
Saturday, October 21, 10:00-Noon – During Apple Dumpling Festival
While you’re enjoying the Apple Dumpling Festival in downtown Stuart, drop by the Creative Arts Center and let the kids, ages 3-12 make masks! Patrick County art teacher Grace Helms will be there to lead the youngsters in a fun mask-making craft, just in time for Halloween, or just for fun!
There is no charge for this event, but donations are accepted!
Introduction to Alcohol Inks
Sunday, October 22, 2:00-4:00 p.m.
Artist Cindy Howe will hold an introductory Alcohol Inks class at the Center on Sunday, October 22 from 2:00-4:00.
Alcohol inks are a fun medium to work with for anyone; no artistic experience is required. In this class each student will practice on several substrates – tile, metal, plastic and paper, with the final project of creating a landscape on paper.
All materials and inks are included in the $28.00 fee for the class.
Make and Take Friday with Lora Mahaffey
October 27, 12:00-3:00 p.m.
Lora’s Make and Take classes are always such fun as each person creates a mini-masterpiece of art to take home that day. $5, payable to Lora on the day of the class.
