Clubs and Exchanges
The Reynolds Homestead sponsors five very active clubs and exchanges. For information about any of the groups, click on the links below:
Decorative Painters Exchange
Meeting on the third Monday of each month from 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., the Decorative Painters complete a different project each month. Anyone interested in exploring the tradition of decorative painting is welcome. Many meetings and projects are open to the public.
Quilters Exchange
The Quilters have been an active exchange for several decades. They meet on the first Saturday of each month from 2-4 p.m. This large and lively group works on projects together, learns new techniques, discusses patterns, and has informative sessions. Open to anyone interested in quilting.
Patrick Henry Photography Club
The Photography Club promotes the art and science of photography to anyone interested, whether novice, amateur or professional. The group meets the first Monday of each month (except for holidays) at 6:30 p.m. upstairs in the CEC. The club's website features more information about events, members and meetings.
Postcard Club
The Postcard Club was established in 2001 for anyone interested in collecting antique postcards. The club meets on the second Wednesday of every month at 7:00 p.m. upstairs in the CEC. Annual dues are $5.00. Each gathering has a short business meeting followed by a program provided by one of the club members. A potluck dinner at 6:30 and a door prize drawing are part of each meeting. For more information call club president Steve Casagrande at (276) 694-6956.
Weavers Exchange
One of the oldest guilds at the Homestead, the weavers meet bi-monthly on the third Sunday from 2-4 p.m. They discuss various forms of weaving, types of looms, yarns, spinning techniques and other fiber art topics. All those interested in the fiber arts are encouraged to join.
